So, now I know what happens when I go too high with the laser power.
Over the weekend, I tried to treat my bikini line for the second time. Because I saw very little hairloss from the first round, I set the laser to Level 2 and got started. The pain was excruciating. I had to stop after a minute or so. I just could not take it.
I thought, perhaps, I had not shaved that area closely enough and moved on to a different area.
An hour or so later, I noticed that region had developed tiny red bumps that scabbed over the next day. The area remained very tender for 2 days and is finally starting to heal.
OMG! I hope you are feeling better, that is not good. I tried using a “numbing” cream called LMX5, it was very expensive and did not help me at all. I am really considering sending mine back as I have had no results at all — no hair loss at all.

I’m doing ok now. It was just a little area and healed up fine.
I’m sorry you aren’t having any results and that the numbing cream was a bust. If you do return your TRIA, please come back and let me (and everyone else reading this) know how the return process went.

I’ve had both laser and electrolysis on my face. When I went for laser (8 treatments over 10 months) they told me it was LESS painful than electrolysis. Which is true but it’s not pain free! LMX 5 cream does work but it needs to be applied about an hour before treatment. Another coat at 1/2 hour is a good idea, too. It took about 20 minutes to completely clear my beard with laser at each session.
