A review of the The TRIA Personal Laser Hair Removal System

About Me

Not sure what to say here.  I’m your average 30-something professional.  I read about the Tria in a magazine and decided to give it a try.  I have no agenda here, just want to try a cool-sounding new product.

If it works, fabulous.

If not, then I hope I save someone else from buying it.

Edited based on comments:  I have a very pale Caucasion complexion and very dark brown hair.  My skin color pretty much correlates to the palest level on the Tria skin color guide.

  2. According to the company rep and the paperwork that came with my unit, there is a 90 day money back guarantee and a 1 yr limited, non-transferrable warranty.

I’ll warn you: limited means limited. There’s a list of exclusions a mile long that seems to cover pretty much anything that might happen in the normal course of use. And it’s non-transferrable so only the original purchaser can take advantage of it.

  3. Thanks for doing this.

I’ve had laser hair removal performed on my legs and bikini line. I know it worked on my legs (I can see the stripes that were missed), but I didn’t see much reduction on my bikini line.

I decided to not continue (why pay for shoddy work); if this product works as well as professional lasers, I’m in. Please keep on posting.

  4. This isn’t a blog. It’s a freaking extended advertisement.

Jeez, I hate crap like this. Go die.

  5. Actually, Jane, it’s not an advertisement. I’m just a user. You may not believe that or not, but it’s the truth. I have no connection with Tria except as a customer. A paying customer.

  6. Thanks for putting up this blog, however, you skipped out on some REALLY important information. You need to tell us what color you skin is AND what color your hair is, these things are EXTREMELY important to the efficiency of laser hair removal. Your review really doesn’t have any significance until you tell us that information.

Here’s a link that will help you out if you need it http://www.hairlaserremoval.co.uk/laser-hair-removal-fitzpatrick.htm

    Thanks!

  7. Sorry if I wasn’t clear: I have a very pale (Caucasion) complexion and very dark brown hair.

In order to operate the Tria, there’s a gadget to test your skin that acts as a key to the system. If your skin is too dark, the machine will not turn on. Also, when you call to activate, the customer service people repeatedly verified complexion/hair color combination during the conversation.

  8. thanks for doing this. i can’t find any good reviews of the tria out there. please keep posting! i noticed it has been a long time. i hope you haven’t quit.

i had professional laser done, so i feel your pain, but it is totally worth it. i want to get an at-home kit to do more areas myself.

  9. Hi,

just wondering if there is a limit how long you can use this product… is it true that it is only good for 250 charges and after that you can just through it away….

I am thinking to buy it as the salon treatments are really expensive and this seems an ok price…

though do you think the laser as strong as the salon one?

    regards,
    Ilana

  10. Hi,

How are the treated areas now that it’s March 2009? I hope it’s worked for you. I know that I (and probably many others) would love to know.
